Luci Lenox, directora internacional de Casting de "Vicky, Cristina y Barcelona" dirigida por Woody Allen o "Un Monstruo viene a verme" dirigida por J.A. Bayona, entre otras, comparte con la Masia Reels su opinión sobre videobooks para actores! La segunda parte, que trata sobre representantes y el proceso de casting, la publicaremos el próximo martes 4 de Junio.
En los siguientes 5 años, ¿ofrecerá la industria española oportunidades de trabajo para actores?
Creo que habrá muchas más oportunidades para que los actores penetren en la industria, ya que se está desarrollando mucho contenido en este momento.
¿Puede un videobook ayudar a encontrar esas oportunidades?
Si es un buen videobook y muestra al actor en su mejor momento, ciertamente ayuda.
¿Qué 5 consejos darías sobre un videobook actoral?
1) Muestra sólo tu mejor trabajo. 2) Asegúrate de que sea fácil de ver. 3) Que dure menos de 3.5 minutos. 4) Asegúrate de escribir tu nombre y datos de contacto. 5) Asegúrate de que refleja el tipo de papeles que estás buscando.
¿Cuáles son los errores más comunes?
Hacer el showreel demasiado largo e incluir trabajos por debajo de lo estándar.
Al ver un videobook, ¿cuánto tiempo tardas en decidir si un actor es interesante para el papel?
Es una decisión muy rápida si son adecuados para el papel y mucho tiempo si no lo son.
¿Alguna vez los clientes ven el videobook del actor?
A menudo enviamos los videobooks de los actores con nuestras listas cuando hacemos sugerencias a directores y productores. ¡Y ellos los visualizan!
¿Cuál es la mejor manera para que un actor se ponga en contacto contigo?
Enviándome un correo electrónico con su headshot adjunto (fotografía del rostro) y un enlace a su videobook.
¿Algún consejo final para actores?
Recuerda que esta es una industria altamente competitiva, así que trata de estar siempre mejorando tu nivel. Y sobre todo, disfruta del viaje. Es una carrera con muchos altibajos, por lo que es importante poder mantener una actitud positiva cuando las cosas no van según lo planeado, ¡pero también poder disfrutar realmente de los momentos en que las cosas van perfectamente!

In the next 5 years, will the Spanish industry have job opportunities for actors?
I think there will be many more opportunites for actors to break into the industry as the Industry is developing so much TV at the moment.
Can an acting showreel increase the chances of finding those opportunities?
If it is a good showreel and shows the actor at their best then it certainly helps.
What are the top tips for an acting showreel?
1) Only show your best work. 2) Make sure it is easy to watch. 3) Keep it under 3.5 minutes. 4) Make sure your name and contact details are on it. 5) Make sure it reflects the kind of roles you are looking to play.
What are the common mistakes?
Making the showreel too long and including sub-standard work.
When watching a showreel, how long does it take you to decide if an actor is interesting for the role?
It’s a very quick decision if they are right and a long time if they are not right.
Do clients ever watch the actor’s showreel? And the website?
We often submit actors’ showreels with our lists when we are making suggestions to directors and producers. And they do watch them!
What is the best way for an actor to contact you?
By sending me a mail with an attached headshot and a link to their showreel.
Any final advice for actors?
Remember that this is a highly-competive industry so try to always be upping your game. And above all, enjoy the journey. It is a career with many ups and downs so it’s important to be able to stay positive when things aren’t going according to plan but also to be able to really enjoy the times when things are going perfectly!
